There are so many men and women who are gifted with the amazing privilege of chiseled jawlines, and defined cheekbones… and then there are the rest of us.

Highlighter, contouring techniques, and dedicated chin exercises still aren’t enough to get you to that Angelina Jolie-esque jawline. This struggle may be hereditary with your family passing down the bad-jawline genes for generations, or it could be the result of years of not following proper skin care protocols. Regardless of the reason, if you hate seeing your double chin in the morning when you look in the mirror, read on, because today we’re talking all about Kybella treatments.

What Is Kybella?

There’s an exciting new development in the plastic surgery world named Kybella! This prescription medicine is a non-invasive, non-surgical way to target unwanted fat cells under the chin and reveal that chiseled jaw line you’ve always dreamed of.

What exactly is Kybella? Kybella is an injectable treatment (in other words, no surgery, and minimal recovery time!) that addresses submental layers of fat. It has been approved for use under the chin by the FDA (Food and Drug Association).

Kybella is an injectable treatment that breaks down and absorbs fat, so once it has been injected underneath the chin, it will reduce the fat noticeably.

The active ingredient that makes Kybella so effective is a synthetically made version of deoxycholic acid (or DA), that replicates the natural DA in the body. Deoxycholic acid breaks down and absorbs fat, so once it has been injected underneath the chin, it will reduce the fat noticeably. Once those fat cells have been broken down, they are gone for good, so no more stressing about getting the camera angle just right to hide those double (triple, or quadruple) chins.

What Will Happen During My Kybella Appointment?

Kybella is an easy, in-office treatment. Do your research to ensure that you will be treated by a Board-Certified Plastic Surgeon. You want to be 100% certain that you will receive professional results that will live up to everything you’ve hoped for.

No general anesthesia and zero large incisions means that you can walk out of your appointment and drive straight back to work.

Once you are prepped and ready, and the area that is being targeted has been cleaned, your doctor will likely apply a bit of numbing gel to ease the mild pain of injection. Some doctors will apply a small temporary tattoo to mark the precise areas that will be injected, to maximize the effectiveness out of each shot. The injections themselves will only take 15 to 20 minutes.

Little To No Recovery Time!

One of the many unique benefits of Kybella is that it is such a quick, non-invasive procedure. You’ll not be going under general anesthesia and there are no large incisions being made on your body, so you’ll be able to walk out of your appointment and drive straight back to work! Some people don’t even need more than one treatment to get the chin of their dreams, while others may desire to schedule further refining sessions.

You may notice a bit of bruising, swelling, or numbness in the treated area below your chin, but this should be long gone within the first week. From the moment the injections are in your chin, you will see your chin reducing in size as the cells are attacked and killed off. The final results will gradually arrive over the course of the weeks after the treatment.

Say Goodbye... For Good!

Another unique benefit of Kybella is that because of the specific type of acid used in the injections, once the acid has destroyed the fat cells you’re targeting, they are gone for good! Those cells will not return; however, it is important to maintain a steady weight and healthy lifestyle to keep from adding new fat cells to your sleekly defined profile. While Kybella is perfect for precisely targeting small pockets of fat, if you have larger amounts that need to be dealt with, your doctor may recommend that you look into liposuction surgery.

Now There's a Better Way Than Kybella Even: FACEtite!

While Kybella is a uniquely beneficial way of slimming down your profile, without having to plan a long recovery time, or even day off, as cosmetic technology evolves, there’s even a better procedure available in a radio frequency breakthrough known as FACEtite. It is an even safer, non-invasive way to contour a jawline or chin and tighten the skin on your face. Learn more about BODYtite.
