There are a plethora of reasons why people want to shed the remaining fatty tissue that is resistant to a healthy diet and exercise.

In reality, the reasons why someone would want to get rid of stubborn weight lie in a multitude of truths, ranging from aesthetics to enhancing physical fitness or improving their health. Unwanted stubborn fat is the bane of many people’s fitness journeys.

Various treatments address unwanted fat, but CoolSculpting Elite offers a unique take on fat removal through cryolipolysis, an amazing cutting-edge technology!

If you are considering CoolSculpting Elite, you may have a host of unanswered questions, such as how many sessions are required or how long each session lasts. So, let’s explore these questions and give you greater insight into the treatment and the results you can expect!

What is the CoolSculpting Elite Treatment?

The CoolSculpting Elite fat reduction treatment combines state-of-the-art machinery and fat-freezing technology for men and women looking for an alternative to invasive surgical procedures.

CoolSculpting Elite is a body contouring solution that eliminates stubborn pockets of fat in a myriad of body areas. Unlike other fat reduction techniques, which use heat energy, the CoolSculpting Elite process relies on cryolipolysis, in which excess fat cells are frozen and eliminated over time through the lymphatic system without damaging any surrounding tissue or cells!

For patients close to their ideal weight but who can’t get rid of the persistent fat cells in specific areas of the body, CoolSculpting Elite is the perfect lunch break beauty stop treatment with minimal to no downtime.

What Happens During a CoolSculpting Treatment Session?

The human body is a wonder in many ways. Still, this uniqueness also means that each person will store fat slightly differently from others. That is why Board-Certified Plastic Surgeon Dr. William J. Vinyard, MD, FACS, and his team of experts will create a treatment plan based on your aesthetic goals and medical history.

During your first session, you will lie down on our relaxing treatment bed, and we will apply a gel pad to your treatment areas. Next, the CoolSculpting Elite device will suction on your chosen treatment areas. During that time, you will likely experience a light burning and/or stinging sensation for the first 5-6 minutes of the treatment, which disappears after your skin goes numb. Watching a movie and listening to your favorite podcast are simple and excellent ways to distract yourself from the treatment! The discomfort felt in the first few minutes is tolerable for a majority of patients and dissipates quickly.

CoolSculpting Elite Can Target Multiple Treatment Areas

CoolSculpting Elite is the only body contouring treatment on the market that is FDA-cleared to eliminate fat cells from nine different body areas! CoolSculpting Elite is a great treatment option for persistent fat cells in the following areas:

  • Abdomen (Upper, Lower, and Central)
  • Submental “double chin”
  • Above the knee
  • Inner and outer thighs
  • Lower back/Love Handles
  • Mid back/bra line
  • Under the buttocks (aka “banana roll”)
  • Upper arms
  • Waist

What Body Contouring Results Can I Expect From CoolSculpting Elite?

To fully understand what results you can expect from CoolSculpting Elite, it is essential to know how fat cells develop in the body. Each person has a finite number of fat cells in their body, meaning new fat cells cannot grow over time. Instead, the body begins to store fat in the existing cells, and those cells may grow or shrink in correlation with the patient’s weight.

Even with a healthy diet and exercise, it can be challenging to reduce the size of the stubborn fat cells in particular areas of the body, which is why opting for a body contouring treatment like CoolSculpting Elite can produce such effective results.

CoolSculpting Elite addresses these excess fat cells in the treatment area and freezes them, resulting in destroyed fat cells that the body will eliminate through its lymphatic system over a period of up to 12 weeks.

This process results in a 20-25% reduction of unwanted, stubborn fat cells in the desired area per treatment cycle, with optimal results being seen with two cycles per treated area. It is vital to maintain a healthy lifestyle to maintain your results. The contouring treatment decreases the number of fat cells but does not prevent the remaining fat cells from growing with subsequent weight gain. After a few weeks, you will begin to experience inch loss resulting in a smoother, leaner physique.

How Long Are Coolsculpting Elite Sessions?

At the Vinyard Institute of Plastic Surgery’s VIPS CoolSculpting Center, we use the CoolSculpting Elite device, which allows us to “dual sculpt” during one session, effectively treating two areas at once.

In other words, twice as much surface area can be treated in a typical 35 to 45-minute session. The number of sessions required will vary based on the size of the treatment area, the patient’s anatomy, and their desired outcome.

How Many Coolsculpting Treatment Sessions Will I Need for Optimal Results?

The number of sessions required will vary based on your desired outcome. Although most patients see visible results after one treatment, Dr. Vinyard and his expert team recommend at least two sessions for the best possible results. The number of treatment sessions will depend on the size of the treatment area and the amount of fat being treated.

How Long Should I Wait Between Two CoolSculpting Elite Sessions?

Once you have completed the first CoolSculpting Elite session, it is essential to wait at least 4-8 weeks before you get a second session.

This waiting period may seem long, but it ensures your safety and the best possible outcome. The time frame allows the body to naturally process and eliminate the treated fat cells.

What About the CoolSculpting Elite Recovery Process?

During the CoolSculpting Elite session, you may feel icy suctioning and tingling sensations, but these should dissipate approximately five minutes after the last cryolipolysis is administered through the applicator(s).

The treated area will be slightly numb. As a result, you will not experience much discomfort, so you can go about your day as usual. Some patients may develop slight swelling and bruising, which usually resolve in the first two weeks of the session.

The recovery process is mainly straightforward; since CoolSculpting Elite is a non-invasive procedure, there are typically no significant hurdles to overcome. Drinking plenty of water and keeping the treated areas out of direct sunlight will stand you in good stead during your recovery.

When Will I See My Desired Results?

CoolSculpting Elite is not a weight loss treatment; it is not designed for people who are far from their ideal weight. Instead, CoolSculpting Elite works best for the stubborn pockets of fat that are just not budging despite leading a healthy and active lifestyle.

While some individuals report that the effects of CoolSculpting Elite are immediately noticeable, it is much more common to see results after several weeks or a couple of months. The process is gradual as the fat cells slowly leave the body as waste over a few months, with some patients seeing improvements in their appearance for up to 12 weeks post-final treatment.
