In Greek mythology, Morpheus was the god of dreams. In the cosmetic surgery world, Morpheus may not be a god, but it’s still the stuff of dreams! Morpheus8 is state-of-the-art technology used to stimulate aging skin to reduce fine lines, sunspots, wrinkles, acne scars, skin texture, and more. Doctors, celebrities, and regular folk alike are raving about Morpheus8’s ability to make the skin appear up to 10 years younger. “I am absolutely thrilled to bits with the result, my skin is fresher, clearer, and I feel much better about myself.” Says celebrity Judy Murray when interviewed about her experience with Morpheus8. But how exactly does Morpheus8 achieve its outstanding results? It turns out that the skin-reversing process is art in itself.

How Does Morpheus8 Work?

Morpheus8 combines two anti-aging technologies together to stimulate, replenish, and renourish the skin: Microneedling and RF. Microneedling, also known as collagen induction therapy, has been used for years to reduce wrinkles, fine lines, skin imperfections, and other blemishes by sticking the skin with tiny, sterile needles. These tiny punctures encourage the skin to produce fresh elastin and collagen as it heals the skin. Patients usually feel minimal discomfort, and after a few sessions, are left with fresh, younger-looking skin. Microneedling is one of the most popular skin treatments, picking up traction in recent years.

The second technology Morpheus8 uses is RF, which stands for radio-frequency skin tightening. Using a low-energy radio-frequency applicator, RF heats the skin to stimulate collagen and elastin to tighten the skin. It reduces fat, contours the skin, and helps shape the treated area. Because of its tightening abilities, RF is especially popular for stimulating fresh elasticity to saggy skin. As a non-invasive, minimal-downtime procedure, RF’s popularity has been skyrocketing in recent years as one of the most convenient and effective ways to tighten skin and reduce the effects of aging.

While microneedling and RF are successful on their own, Morpheus8 combines and improves upon both technologies to create one of the best anti-aging skin treatments on the market. Morpheus8 uses a subdermal adipose remodeling device (SARD) with ultra-fine gold-plated needles which penetrate up to 4 millimeters deep (the deepest on the current market) to puncture and administer the RF effects. Additionally, the needles are not coated at the tips, meaning that the radiofrequency is especially targeted. This allows for the most collagen, elastin, and hyaluronic acid production possible while remodeling the fat, contouring the skin, and allowing plasma delivery. And finally, Morpheus8 is FDA-approved.

What Does Morpheus8 Treat?

Morpheus8 is focused on skin, anti-aging, and skin damage reversal. Morpheus8 requires a series of treatments to be most effective, as the skin requires time to grow accustomed to collagen production and so on. Morpheus8 is especially renowned for successfully:

  • Tightening the skin
  • Enhancing skin texture and tone
  • Reducing the appearance of pores, fine lines, wrinkles, and laxity
  • Treating acne scars and other forms of scarring
  • Overall rejuvenating skin

Note: If you have rosacea, please mention this in your consultation, as not all forms of rosacea benefit from Morpheus8.

Is Morpheus8 Only for the Face?

One of the best parts about Morpheus8 is that it can treat more than just the face — it can treat the back, abdomen, inner thighs, arms, and more. The results are the same as if they were administered to the face: fresh, bright, firm, contoured skin. This means it can help contour and heal skin almost anywhere on the body. Nonetheless, Morpheus8’s most popular treatment areas are the face, neck, and chin.

If you’re looking to try Morpheus8 on your body, we may also recommend combining this procedure with another treatment to maximize your cosmetic potential. Since all treatments done at Vinyard Institute of Plastic Surgery are customized to your preferences, we want to hear all about your goals and dreams to curate a unique treatment menu just for you.

How Many Sessions Does Morpheus8 Take to Work?

As mentioned before, Morpheus8 produces the best quality work in a series of treatments. However, technically speaking, it only takes one treatment for Morpheus8 to “work” since every session will stimulate collagen and elastin production. But for the best, most noticeable results, we usually recommend 3-4 sessions spaced approximately one month from each other. Before administering Morpheus8, we will conduct a thorough assessment of your skin to determine how many treatments will deliver the results you’re looking for.

Does Morpheus8 Hurt?

Before your session, our team will provide you with topical numbing cream to help you experience as least amount of discomfort as possible. After the procedure, you may feel slight irritation and experience skin reddening. However, all of these are normal and no cause for concern. Nonetheless, if discomfort ever evolves into pain, during or after treatment, alert us right away, and we will assist you.
